Refund policy

If you would like to return an item you purchased and request a refund, you may do so for any reason within 30 days after receiving your item. The following rules, however, will govern how returns/refunds are handled.

If the refund is being requested due to an error on our side, such as the wrong item being delivered, or the item being defective/not as described, then a full refund or exchange, including shipping costs, will be made to resolve the issue.

For all other eligible cases, return shipping will need to be paid for by the buyer. The cost of the returned item(s) will be refunded, but not any of the initial shipping-related fees. The following stipulations will also apply:

  • items must be in their original condition/packaging in order to receive a full refund.
  • if an item is returned used, worn, or damaged, then a partial refund will be offered based on how much the item has been devalued.
  • items can be returned using a cheaper (slower) shipping method than what they were initially sent with. However, please keep in mind that refunds will be made after the item is returned, and will be based on the condition it arrives in.


To start a return, please contact us at info@tradejapanstore.com and let us know which items from which order you would like to return. If you are eligible for a return, then we will send you instructions on how and where to send your package. You can also contact us about any questions or concerns you have about this return policy.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods, custom products, and items at high risk for fraudulent returns. Items that are ineligible for returns will state so on their product pages. Gift cards are also not eligible for returns.

Package loss / damage
Our policy regarding packages that get lost or damaged in the mail is covered in our shipping policy.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know how much will be refunded. When possible, we will automatically refund you on your original payment method within 10 business days. If for some reason this cannot be done, then an alternative method for issuing the refund will be worked out with the buyer (including potentially offering store discounts/gift cards).
